The Cebu public transport system follows a number codes for the jeepney routes. You can see this code at the center-top of the jeepney, and also at the sides of the vehicle. Check blue arrow.
This is done to easily identify the roads that the jeep will ply. Most Cebuanos knows this already but for those still unfamiliar, and especially those who are visiting the city for the first time, familiarize yourself with the jeepney codes and routes in Cebu for easy navigation.
The major thoroughfares that these jeepneys will pass will also be indicated in the signboard hanging in the front window. Check yellow arrow on the picture below.
Note: These routes may not always be followed especially if there is a rerouting that happens for a special event. Example: IronMan event in Cebu, Sinulog Grand Parade, Sinulog procession etc.
When in doubt, ask a Cebuano to help you out on what jeepney to take to get to your next destination.
We Love Cebu team made some commentaries on select routes for the benefit of the riding public especially tourists who are not familiar with the streets of the city.

We tried our best to make the Cebu jeepney routes and codes as accurate to the best of our ability. But if you regularly ride these jeepneys and you found an error, please share the info for the benefit of everyone. Daghang Salamat!
Are there jeepneys that passes by or will go to Tops, Sirao flower farm, Mountain View Busay, Temple of Leah, Taoist Temple complex? NO. Take a private vehicle, taxi, or habal habal motorcycles.
Make sure if you’ve chosen to ‘pakyaw’ or if you strike a contract with taxi or habal habal drivers to be very clear about where to bring you, if it’s round trip ride or one-way-drop-off, how much total contract fare, etc. There had been several complaints that some habal habal drivers tries to trick tourist going to these top attractions in Metro Cebu.
On taking public transport, in case you are confuse or in doubt, ask a local, they will help you.
Commute like a local and save! Navigate Cebu’s jeepney routes!
